Super Eagles midfielder, Rabiu Ibrahim, has arrived Belgium for medicals with Jupiler league side, Gent, before signing the dotted line to complete his switch from AS Trencin.
Ibrahim will join Moses Simon who also joined the Belgian side from AS Trencin in 2014.
“It’s true, I’m in Belgium as we speak now, my medicals will take place today (Tuesday). I’m so happy for the opportunity to play for a team as big as Gent,” the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” I want to thank AS Trencin and the fans of the club. They really treated me well, and I will forever remain a fan of the team.”
Ibrahim has five caps for the Super Eagles and the former PSV midfielder hopes his move to Belgium will cement his spot in the national team.
” I’m hopeful that my performance in Belgium will help attract the attention of the national team handlers. I’m not done with the team, it’s the pride of every player to play for his country and I’m not an exception,” he added.
